If so, please post the name and contact info/web site below. If too new to post a link (under 10 posts), then put the practice and location so one of us can google it.
It also helps if we know if they only do certain revisions such as a lapband to sleeve, or sleeve to DS. OR if they do the full monty, the RNY to DS.
To help us vet these surgeons, ask your surgeon the questions listed below. And then post the answers you get. It also helps to explain to her/his office or her/him as to why you would like the information.
This is what I used to ask my surgeon via his nurse. (Edited for anyone to use)
"There is a list of Duodenal Switch patients from ALL over the country who help others learn about this particular surgery and which surgeons do the procedure.
I want to add Dr. ........... to that list but we need a few details if you don't mind answering.
1) About how many DS surgeries has she/he done (not the practice but him/her)?
2) Complication rate?
3) Where did she/he learn the skill to do a DS? Who was his/her mentor?
4) Does he/she do revisions?
4) About how many revisions to a DS has she/he done.
If she/he only does lapband to DS then how many of those has she/he done?
5) Where did she/he learn to do that revision?"
6) One or two anastomoses?
I am trying to add more options to this thread but we need those questions answered to help us.
Edited to add question number 6 since the advent of the SADI/LoopDS/SIPS surgeons.
